Quick Styling Tips - How To Look Taller Than You Really Are

THE formula: high-waist skirt + tights + platform shoes
  1. Avoid baggy or bulky pants/ skirts, instead tights and leggings should be your best mates
  2. High waistline is the key to "lengthen" your bodyline visually, regardless you're choosing a pair of working pants or a nice one-piece dress
  3. Pick eye-catching top pieces, it's good to draw others' attention to the upper portion of your body and this helps to make you look taller instantly
  4. And of course, a pair of platform shoes or pumps will always help

Valentine's Day Romance - Lace Lace Lace

I know I've written on lace before in this blog, but February 14th is always a day to look a little more romantic than usual and nothing could do such trick better than lace could! The good news, however, is that we now have more color choices this year on top of the classic white angelic lace dress or the black sexy mystic underwear.

The Classics

Not so sure about it? Let me inspire you:

1) No need to go for a total lace look. Just a slight touch of it such as a pair of lace stockings or lace-trimmed pumps could be equally sexy.

2) Instead of the most commonly seen see-through lace, you could choose layer-on-layer type (e.g. lace on denim? lace on felt?). Or, the simplest way, a lace-print one-piece.

3) Sportswear all the way? Just use a lace headband/ wristband today and you're already 5 times sweeter than the usual you! A pair of lace-trimmed Converse will do too!

4) In love with boyish style lately? Why not try a lace bow-tie or lace-collar shirt? Or if you're in suit now, stick a piece of scrap lace into the chest pocket (yes, pretend to be a lace handkerchief) and you look like a true valentine now!

5) Like I said, try a different color of lace this year. Red is hot, yellow is glamorous, orange is feminine, pink is cute...

So, get ready to your candle-light dinner then, Happy Valentine's Day! :)

DIY - Chanel Haute Couture Tights

Things you need to prepare:
1. A pair of nude or opaque tights
2. Two pieces of cardboard (even better to re-use the ones which come with the pair of new tights)
3. Some sequins and rhinestones
4. Fabric glue
5. A tailor chalk or a pencil
6. A pair of scissors (optional)

Steps:
1. Put the tights on and mark with a tailor chalk or a pencil (do not use too much force though!) where you would like the sequins and rhinestones to be placed. It may be easier to sit down and do it.
2. Pull the tights off, insert the two pieces of cardboard into the tights (note: round the cardboard corners with scissors first to avoid making any damage) and let them lay right underneath the areas you just marked. This is to make sure you will not stick the two layers of the tights together during next step.
3. Glue the sequins and rhinestones on your marked spots.
4. Allow to dry for a few hours.
5. There you go your Chanel-style tights!
